Peixe da Ria was created to meet the growing global demand for natural, sustainable aquaculture by becoming Portugal’s leader in the farming of valuable local species for which demand exceeds biologically sustainable fishing levels, such as European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata).

With a mission to offer a natural product of excellence, resulting from sustainable production, Peixe na Ria is composed by  an experienced team with successful 18-year track record producing and selling seabass and seabream farmed in estuary ponds.

With a strong focus on locations with favorable natural conditions for aquaculture production and on the technology development and investment, we are focused on implementing strategies that prevent pathologies and increase animal welfare, working with nature and not against it.
